Our Core Promise

We do not sell consumer data.

Privacy is protected by design: we aim to collect the minimum data needed to provide safety alerts and product functionality.

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Augeas Technologies Partnership Company ("Stovyn," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you:

  • use our website and online services (the "Site"),
  • use our mobile application(s) (the "App"),
  • use our stove-monitoring device and related services (the "Device"),
  • contact support or otherwise interact with us.

If you use third-party services through our Site/App (e.g., app stores, payment processors, cloud platforms), their privacy practices also apply.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information, depending on which features you enable:

1) Information you provide

  • Account/profile details (e.g., name, email, phone number, household nickname for the device).
  • Support messages and attachments you send to us.

2) Device and app information

  • Device identifiers (e.g., Device ID/serial, BLE identifiers), app instance identifiers, and general diagnostics.
  • Network and connection details (e.g., Wi-Fi status, connection timestamps, IP address when connecting to our servers).
  • App usage data (e.g., screens viewed, feature toggles) and crash logs.

3) Stove activity and sensor data

  • Thermal sensor readings and derived events (e.g., "burner on," "unattended cooking timer started," "alert triggered").
  • Configuration data you create (e.g., burner zones, thresholds, safety preferences).

4) Images/audio (only if enabled by you and supported by your Device model)

  • Camera snapshots/images related to stove monitoring (for example, to improve detection quality or to support troubleshooting).
  • Audio signals used for specific features (for example, whistle detection), if your model includes a microphone and you enable that feature.

Camera & Microphone Controls

Camera is not for surveillance

The Pro camera is for on-device detection models only. You can disable it completely via Camera Privacy Off in Settings.

Microphone is optional

We do not record, store, or stream audio. We only extract frequency peaks on-device; raw audio is immediately discarded.

Important: By default, we design features so that sensitive sensor content (like images) can remain on-device unless you enable cloud features that require upload. We do not intend the Device to be used for general-purpose surveillance.

5) Cookies and similar technologies (Site)

We may use cookies for essential Site functionality, security, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

On-device vs. Cloud

Stays on Device

  • Thermal event detection
  • Burner zone mapping
  • Local alerts and speaker
  • Camera inference (Pro)
  • Audio frequency extraction

Goes to Cloud (when enabled)

  • Push notifications
  • Dashboard incident history
  • Device health telemetry
  • Optional model improvement (opt-in)
  • Account and profile data

Cloud uploads can be limited to Wi-Fi + charging (if supported by your device configuration).

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • 1Provide core functionality — setup, device pairing, alerts, safety timers, and user preferences.
  • 2Send notifications you request — push notifications, SMS/email alerts if enabled.
  • 3Improve reliability and performance — debugging, crash analysis, quality improvements.
  • 4Provide customer support.
  • 5Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • 6Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Model Training · Opt-in Only

If we offer an opt-in program to improve detection models (e.g., using images or event data), we will present a clear opt-in choice in the App/device experience. If you do not opt in, we will not use your content for that purpose. You can revoke consent at any time.

How We Share Information

We may share information in the following situations:
