Acoustic sensors analyze frequency peaks on-device to detect tea kettle whistles and alarm tones. Only the peak value is used · raw audio is never saved or uploaded.

Wave to dismiss.
Wave a hand within arm's length to clear an alert, no phone needed. Standard uses on-device thermal-motion detection. The "I'm here" tap in the app is always there as a fallback.
How it would work on Standard
Your hand passing the sensor shows up as a moving warm spot in the 32×24 thermal frame. Detection runs on-device. We'll ship it only once the false-trigger rate is acceptable on the bench.
Range expectations
Standard targets gestures at about arm's length (best-effort, not guaranteed). Pro adds an on-device camera cross-check for longer range. For now, the app tap is the supported way to acknowledge.
Privacy by design
When the feature ships, detection will run on-device. Standard uses thermal data only — no camera. Nothing about this feature streams continuously to the cloud.
Hand-wave dismiss will be opt-in once it ships. Until then, use the "I'm here" tap from Settings → Emergency Services in the app.
Privacy-first Whistle Detection.
Whistle detection only · we analyze sound frequencies on-device and discard audio (no voice recording, no streaming).
Stovyn converts sound into a simple frequency peak (like 3.1 kHz) to trigger alerts. Only the peak value is used · raw audio is never saved or uploaded.
