These are example notifications. Actual alerts may vary based on your device configuration and settings. Stovyn provides alerts to support safer cooking habits and does not replace certified safety devices or emergency services.

Wave from anywhere in the kitchen.

Pro's on-device camera + thermal cross-check spots a hand-wave from across the kitchen — not just at the stovetop. Walk over, wave, the alert dismisses. No phone, no taps, no greasy fingers on glass.

Camera-assisted detection

On-device computer vision spots the wave gesture, cross-checks against the thermal frame to confirm a real hand (not a wagging tail or a passing reflection), then dismisses the alert and resets the timer.

Range: ~6+ feet

Reliable from across the kitchen — typical 8×10 ft layouts work end-to-end. The Standard model needs you within ~18 inches; Pro lets you confirm presence from the doorway.

Image bytes stay local

Wave-gesture inference runs entirely on-device. The detection doesn't generate snapshots, doesn't upload, doesn't log video. Same privacy promise as everywhere else.

Hand-wave dismiss is opt-in. Toggle it from Settings → Emergency Services. The "I'm here" tap on your phone keeps working — wave is just an additional way.

Privacy-first Whistle Detection.

Whistle detection only · we analyze sound frequencies on-device and discard audio (no voice recording, no streaming).

Stovyn converts sound into a simple frequency peak (like 3.1 kHz) to trigger alerts. Only the peak value is used · raw audio is never saved or uploaded.
