Risk reversal — what protects your purchase
30-day returns, free return shipping
If the device does not work for your kitchen within 30 days of receipt, send it back. We cover the return shipping label. Refund processed within 5-7 business days of receipt. No questions, no restocking fee, no "sorry, opened items final sale."
90-day no-questions-asked warranty
Defective on arrival, breaks within 90 days, fails to pair, sensor reads wrong — any of those gets a free replacement. Manufacturer warranty plus statutory consumer-protection rights in your country.
No mandatory subscription
Phone push, device-speaker beep, and trusted-contact SMS escalation all work on the one-time purchase. Forever. We will not put the safety baseline behind a paywall — if we ever charge for advanced features, the safety alerts stay free.
No video stream
The Pro camera processes images locally. By default, image bytes stay on the device. Standard model has no camera at all. Both have a hardware-level off toggle.
Verifiable credentials
GS1-registered UPCs
Stovyn Standard: UPC 199874835365. Stovyn Pro: UPC 199874846569. Both 12-digit GTIN-12 codes registered with GS1 (the global product-identifier authority used by Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and every major retailer). You can verify these in any GS1 lookup.
Patent pending
Patent application filed for the per-burner thermal sensing + acoustic whistle detection + on-device camera architecture. We do not yet have an issued patent — "patent pending" means the application has been filed and is under examination.
FCC modular certification path
Stovyn uses an ESP32-WROOM module that is pre-certified under FCC Part 15 Subpart C (radio modules). Final-product testing under FCC Part 15 Subpart B (unintentional emitters) is in progress as part of the Seeed Studio prototyping pass. We will not ship to retail customers without the final compliance label.
TCPA-compliant SMS escalation
Trusted-contact SMS escalation requires explicit consent at signup, with a timestamp logged for every consent. Customers can revoke consent at any time and contacts can text STOP to opt out. This is the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act standard for transactional / safety messaging.
What Stovyn is not
We are louder about this than most companies in this category. Implying we replace certified safety devices kills people, so we say it plainly:
- · Stovyn is not a UL 217 smoke alarm. Always maintain a working UL 217 smoke alarm in or near the kitchen. Test it monthly. Replace batteries annually. Replace the unit every 10 years.
- · Stovyn is not a UL 268 commercial smoke alarm.
- · Stovyn is not a UL 2034 carbon-monoxide alarm. Always maintain a separate certified CO alarm.
- · Stovyn does not call 911 automatically. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Stovyn can show emergency guidance and notify your trusted contacts via SMS.
- · Stovyn does not auto-shut-off the stove. It is a monitor and alerter, not a stove controller.
- · Stovyn does not perform food/object recognition. The Pro camera detects rising heat, hand-wave gestures, and cooking-state transitions. It does not identify ingredients, recipes, or what you are cooking.
- · Stovyn does not stream video to the cloud. The Pro camera processes images locally; image bytes stay on the device by default.
- · Stovyn does not sell or share customer data with advertisers.
Data and privacy
- · On-device AI processing. Detection models run on the device hardware, not in the cloud.
- · 90-day data retention for diagnostic and event metadata. Deletable on request.
- · GDPR-compliant data export and deletion supported.
- · Web dashboard does not display camera footage or cooking-time analytics. Incidents, fire/safety trends, and device health only.
- · No third-party advertising trackers on the customer-facing app. Diagnostics are anonymized and opt-out.

Stovyn is built by Augeas Technologies Partnership Company, founded in 2025 by Prabhakar Rao Mallela. Headquartered in Hyderabad, India. Built after a kitchen fire, far from home, that a smoke alarm caught too late.
